Love triangles rarely become this entertaining. A movie that sets the stage with a strange birthing sequence that fast forwards 20 years and into a strange police altercation and then fast forwards again another 6 years into a strange love triangle, it all makes for what plays out to be a complicated mess of lust, passion, and revenge.

The three focal characters all bring a basket full of emotions and entangling decisions into play, and the three actors are able to bring all of it to the screen with sincerity.

Almodóvar has a really unique and captivating style so that even when the movie slows its pace it never losses your attention.
