Children of Paradise is a rare gem and unlike any film I’ve ever seen. Besides its three hour plus running time, Children of Paradise uses the character of Baptiste the mime to explore an element of cinematic theater I’ve never before experienced. While there is a terrific love story at the heart of Children of Paradise, what really captivated me were the large scale mime performances that we get to experience. Jean-Louis Barrault (Baptiste) does the best miming I’ve ever seen and it is utterly entertaining.

Children of Paradise is a wonderful film filled with romance and performance at the highest of levels.
